Fire In The Sky

September 8, 2010

It was a clear but chilly April night and my friends and I along with my oldest son and his girlfriend were huddled around a roaring campfire trying to stay warm. Everyone was drinking coffee or hot chocolate as we chatted and laughed the night away under the stars. As I reached for a Marlboro and my lighter, I noticed a large bright green light in the southern sky. I jumped up out of my chair and turned around to get a better look at it. Everyone else must have noticed it at about the same time I did and jumped to their feet as well. We all stood there in amazement as this very large green ball of light traveled across the sky in a Northerly direction. “What the hell is that” was said by pretty much everyone. “It’s moving WAY to fast to be a plane and I have never seen a plane that bright before” I said. This ball of green light was the brightest thing I have ever seen in the sky. It was much brighter than a firework show on the 4th of July and lit up the whole sky as it traveled. It also left a very large green trail of light behind it as well. It was one of the coolest things I had ever seen. Then in a flash, it disappeared into the Northern sky. After it disappeared, we all sat back down and came to the conclusion that it was either a space ship or a meteor falling to the earth. I was cool with the meteor theory. LOL

The next morning, Bitch Eyes came over with the newspaper that included an article about a meteor that crashed into a Wisconsin corn field. This obviously was what we had seen and were relieved that aliens had not landed on mother earth. I had never seen anything like that before and hope to see another before my time is up! That was one of the coolest things I have ever seen!

I have never seen a UFO myself however this would probably be the closest thing. I wish I had a telescope! LOL

I can imagine this scene! Very descriptive. I’m a bit jealous not to have seen it first hand.

Cool story. Now I have to google that to read the news article. I swear I’m an OCNGB (obsessive compulsive neurotic goggling bitch) Glad it landed in Wisconsin instead of in your campfire! Always glad to see one of your new blogs up.

My husband was making a liquor store run that night and he got home and freaked out! He came charging in the house asking me, “Did you see it??? Did you see it??” I’m like, no, see what?!!! He proceeded to freak out about the giant green ball in the sky!

Did you look on YouTube? Some times people with cameras catch things like this. Too bad you didn’t catch it with your camera. Maybe I’ll wonder over to YouTube to check it out.

Because of my very limited internet time, I never did try to see it on YouTube but Sherri passed along a good video of it!!
