I think that for those people that it would make more comfortable, yes. Life has too many struggles to have to handle successfully, without a breakdown! For many, marijuana would be helpful..mental health wise. As long as it is not used to hurt those who are not interested, go for it! 🙂

I would “ditto” what Doraz said. I think it should be used especially for those with cancer or horrific pain. Why should they suffer and how is weed any different than the heavy duty narcotics they already use?

Yes I do. In my opinion it’s safer than alcohol. How often do you hear about people smoking pot then driving and killing someone?? NOOOO they are too lazy, you can find them on their coach! lol…seriously though I think it’s society that has a problem with it, people are too PC! Can you imagine the money this country would make on the taxes on that stuff!? Not to mention the money and time our law enforcement wastes going after minor pot offenders! I’m ALL for it!

I don’t think it should be legalized to the general public but I do think that if a doctor writes out a precription for it that it’s use should be legal.

I’m not sure. Parts of me wants to say yes but other parts want say no. While I don’t think pot is a big deal and I’m with Nikki as far as the whole driving thing because I don’t care what anyone says, I’d rather see someone drive “high” than drunk (if we are talking about one or the other). I have never seen someone fall over from smoking a joint but have seen plenty enough drunk that can’t even stand up and yet, they drive???? BUT…if it were legal, who would be able to afford it? Look what they’ve done to cigarettes and alcohol. On the other hand, think of the jobs it would create and the “law enforcement” people it would take off the hook for silly tickets and fines and court time for silly things.

    I’m still not sure.

Yes, especially for health reasons. Those with cancer or some other debilitating disease. The government could make so much money regulating, taxing and everything else I can’t believe they haven’t done it yet! I don’t know about being better for you, but it’s certainly not worse than cigarettes or alcohol yet those are legal. There was just a big article on this very topic in our Sunday paper! Are you reading up on us Gary?!

    Hey Iviss,

    It’s worse than you think!

    Gary,

I dont think Marijuana must be legalized anywhere. It just creates so much more trouble.

We’ve gotto ban selling it to minors, then the minors have to go get fake ID…

Why not just leave it as it is and let everyone have access to it without any hassles!

I’m with most of you. I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as alcohol and yet alcohol is legal after 21 years of age. What Nikki and Joy said about driving while high is what I have said for years. I don’t hit the pipe myself but I think it should be legalized. I think if you can walk into a bar, drink yourself into a drunken stupor then you should be able to fire up a joint.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!! LOL

No, but only because I would use it and the last thing I need is the munches.

I would, but with the strictest of guidelines that would most likely not be followed. For people with something very serious/painful like pancreatic cancer, sure. I’ve worked with a lot of people that had back pain and receive medical marijuana. I don’t agree with that. I’ve also worked with a lot of people in jail/probation that have issues with depression when they quit. While some say it’s not “physiologically” addictive, it can damage the pleasure center of the brain.

My son started out with pot and ended up with heroin and crack. As a matter of fact, I am trying to get him into a rehab again today. I smoked when I was young and I never took any other drugs. I really don’t know if pot is what started him on heroin. I think it might have happened anyway. He never did drink much.

This is a question that I have thought about for years and still I can’t make up my mind. I certainly don’t feel it’s any worse than alcohol. In my state there is $100 fine if you are caught with less than an ounce. I guess I still can’t make up my mind.

      It’s a tough one!

I’m very sorry to hear about your son Joan! I wish him all the best with his rehab!

One of my good friends has a website about recovery. He has a live radio show every Saturday at 7PM Pacific, run by his website. You can always write in or just listen. Here’s a link to a show from about a month ago where they spoke with an 18 year old heroin addict. http://www.onlinerecoverysupport.com/?p=194
There’s another one that talks about interventions too if you’re interested.

      Be well Joan!
