Work Leads To More Work!

Because my man cave was in such shambles for so long, I must be honest and say that I have not been doing a very good job at keeping up with the maintenance of our vehicles. Oh sure, if there was something major wrong with one we would take it into the shop. Thankfully that only happened once to one of our cars. I’m talking more of the smaller things that I like to do to keep our cars running and looking good.

Paula is going to kill me for saying this but the inside of her car looks more like a dumpster than a Nissan Altima. I HATE a dirty car! I HATE when I go to sit down in a car and I have to move crap off the seats to make room for my ass and kick stuff out of the way to make room for my feet. HATE IT! HATE IT! HATE IT! My car wasn’t exactly squeaky clean either and I had enough! So, since the man cave was cleaned out and my son’s car was out of it, I decided to get to work!

Paula’s Nissan Altima:

  • Changed oil and replaced oil filter
  • Added oil stabilizer to oil
  • Replaced fuel filter
  • Replaced air filter
  • Replaced PCV Valve
  • Fixed broken windshield wiper arm
  • Had a new rear tire put on
  • Aired tires to proper PSI
  • Fixed a broke exhaust pipe
  • Replaced a broke exhaust clamp
  • Cleaned fuel system
  • Checked and topped off coolant, power steering, brake, transmission and windshield fluids
  • Vacuumed inside of car and trunk
  • Polished dash, door trim and doors with polishers
  • Washed the outside of the car
  • Deep cleaned the exterior of the car with liquid clay
  • Deep cleaned the exterior of the car with a clay bar
  • Polished the exterior of the car with polish and a buffer
  • Waxed the exterior of the car

My Chevy Lumina:

  • Changed oil and replaced oil filter
  • Replaced PCV valve
  • Replaced fuel filter
  • Cleaned fuel system
  • Aired tires to proper PSI
  • Removed front fender and headlight assembly
  • Replaced headlight assembly
  • Removed dent from front fender
  • Cleaned inside and outside of windows
  • Vacuumed interior and trunk
  • Shampooed all seats and door panels
  • Polished dash, doors and trim
  • Lubricated door hinges

There are still a few things left to do here and there but for the most part I am done. Doing this pretty much all myself should explain some of my absence from the blogosphere. I’m glad to see our cars back to running and looking good again. 😀

Your your in so much trouble, wait till Paula read this. The redeeming factor I guess it that really is an impressive list of taking care of the cars. That’s a lot of work. Ive been looking at our cars I try and detail the insides at least once a year. I’m not looking forward to that. So this means you really are ready for Summer.

Would it not have been quicker and cheeper if both cars were to be abducted by zombies and just replaced them through the insurance due to the amount of time and money spent.

You know….. I never thought about it at the time but yeah, that DOES make more sense. Something to think about next time I suppose. LOL
