Father’s Day Dinner & Dance

June 21, 2009

The resort held their annual Father’s Day Dinner & Dance tonight. Dinner was served on the patio of the clubhouse. BBQ ribs, baked potato, scalloped corn and a dinner roll was served with an ice cream sundae for dessert. The meal was really tasty and free to members of the resort that are fathers. All others were $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids, which is really not too shabby for good BBQ ribs.

After dinner, we were treated to a band called The Dell Fox Band. They played from 6 to 9 PM and sounded really good. They played everything from Willie Nelson to Jimmy Buffet to Lynard Skynard.

The camper you see over the singer’s right shoulder is ours. LOL

Along with the great dinner and live music, there was a 50/50 raffle and door prizes for the dads. We didn’t win the 50/50 raffle but I did win a set of Stanley screwdrivers as a door prize! That was really cool because I never win anything. LOL

It was really a fun evening and a great way to spend some time with my wife and boys. I’m already looking forward to next year.

Hey, I thought I was commenting on the first post, now I know you had a good one! That is a good deal for good ribs. I’m glad you guys had a good time. What’s scalloped corn? I’ve heard of scalloped potatoes.

You know, I honestly don’t know what scalloped corn is either. That’s what the menu read though. LOL Tasted like regular corn to me. LOL

And is that you in the last picture? Without mustache and goatee? Almost didn’t recognize you. You look just as handsome either way!

Sometimes he shaves it off in the summertime. I like the mustache and goatee better, but he says he stays cooler this way.

do the weekends fill up? I will have to find out my husbands schedule and try to work something out. That sounds like way too much fun for not much further than where we usually go.
