Don’t Like The Weather? Wait A Minute And It Will Change.

March 28, 2009

That is the saying that people use to describe the weather here in my neck of the woods. I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard it or said it myself. I could put at least two of our four kids in braces and pay for college at a GOOD school.

This little saying is used as a good description because it is so very true. It’s not uncommon during certain times of the year to have a 30 or 40 degree temperature fluctuation in just one day. It may be 38 degrees at 6 in the morning, 77 degrees by 5 in the afternoon and cool off to 40 by 11 at night. It’s CRAZY! In the spring and fall it’s also common to have major differences in temperature from day to day as well. 40 degrees one day, 75 degrees the next and then back to 35 degrees the next. It’s hard to make definitive plans for anything outdoors during these times of the year.

There are however two “for sures” around here. In the winter, it’s going to be COLD and we are going to get snow. LOTS of snow. In the summer, it’s going to be HOT and it’s going to be HUMID. We accept the inevitables around here, we all know to expect it. We may not like it, but we accept it.

Today was the perfect day to put this little saying to perfect use. Spring began springing in my neck of the woods about two weeks ago. It’s been gradually getting warmer and warmer, grey gloom has given way to the sun and new life is sprouting up out of the ground. It’s been nice and well deserved after a pretty relentless winter this year.

Tonight’s forecast is calling for cold temperatures and we are supposed to receive 4 to 7 inches of snow by noon tomorrow. Spring is taking a little break from springing for a bit. Just when you think you are in the clear and spring is finally here, winter revisits with all her evilness.

Monday’s forecast is calling for sunny skies and upper 50’s so the snow will be short lived. Don’t like the weather? Wait a minute and it will change.

I hear ya. It’s the same here. Last fall we actually had the a/c and the heat on in the same day and I think that went on for a week. Make up your mind MOTHER NATURE!! We are supposed to get another dumping of possible half a foot tomorrow into Tues!!! Just when it was all drying up, this is great news 😦

Oh no doubt! ENOUGH is ENOUGH already!! I’m happy to report that we only ended up with about two inches and most of it has already melted. I love it when the weather man is wrong to OUR advantage. 😀

Mother Nature never fails to remind us all that she in fact controls all!!!!!
If I wish hard enough do you think she’d give us a break! And I’m totally convinced that our meteorologists don’t know too much more than me! I do love that we get all the different seasons but I can do without it all in one day! I feel ya Gary!!!

Yep, she sure does. She likes to make that VERY well known sometimes too. 😉
