Gary’s Taco Pizza

February 28, 2009

taco_pizzaThis delicious pizza is a BIG hit in my house and it will in yours as well! BIGTIME “foodies” can make this pizza TOTALLY home made by making your own pizza dough, taco seasoning and grating your own cheese.

You can have a lot of fun with this pizza and let your creative “juices” flow!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 package dry taco seasoning
  • 1 package corn taco shells or tostada shells (hard)
  • 1 prepared pizza crust (12 inch)
  • 1 cup Mexican style shredded cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato (chopped)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cook meat with taco seasoning as directed on package.
  3. Spread evenly onto pizza crust. Sprinkle with cheese.
  4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  5. Top with lettuce and tomatoes.
  6. Crush taco shells and sprinkle over pizza.

As is, this pizza is DELICIOUS but now you can let your creative juices flow. Add any toppings that you may like! Red or white onion, salsa, fresh cilantro or jalapeno peppers. Whatever trips your trigger! Be creative!

Enjoy!

Gary, thanks for sharing this recipe. I am going to get all the stuff I need and try it out. I think I will use either a soy sausage or BBQ chicken, instead of the beef. I am also going to mix a couple of cheeses , instead of using just one type. I will let you know when I make this! Really appreciate your sharing this one with us! *)*

Your welcome Luiza! BBQ chicken could be good! I was thinking earlier that I may use chorizo instead of beef next time to spice it up a bit.

You need to annoy people and put “And the secret ingredient” at the bottom somewhere.
