Yep, you’re talking to the fifth-grade champion in our whole COUNTY in Florida ! (Well…. runner-up.) I won a US Savings Bond and everything! You realize this was xx-years-ago and I am now entering an age where I can’t even remember WHAT word I want much less how to spell it!!
I am a pretty good speller. My mom used to make us take a word a day out of the dictionary and we had to learn it’s meaning and spell it correctly.
Funny spelling story, my last boss used to ask me how to spell things all the time and I would give her the correct spelling within seconds. My key? I used to keep Word open on my computer, type the word in and then spell check it!
I would say that on a scale of 1 to 10 I am about an 8.5! Spelling has always been something I have been good at. My mother is as well so I must have picked up the skill from her.
I do still use spell check though. Just as a double check of myself.
I am a pretty good speller and it’s something I’m wanting my children to be good at too. My daughter spells much better when she says it out loud then writing it out on paper, go figure!
I think so…at 6th grade I was at high school level…after that..IDK…no I’m pretty good. I don’t need spell check too often! My son is an awesome speller! 3 tests so far this year and 1OO% on all 3. His memory is outstanding.
I’m obsessed with spelling words correctly. Probably too obsessed to the point of being somewhat OCD. My brother and sister are the same way. My sister even worked as a copy editor for a newspaper. I wonder if it’s genetic?
yes I are also very nearly good at the spelling but I is not so as good at
grandmagrammarROFLMAO!!
No, not so much. And to make matters worse, I usually forget to use the spell check.
I guess I am a pretty good speller. But I also read constantly and they say that’s the key to spelling.
Makes sense!

Ohhhhhhhhh, you sly dog you! That’s funny! LOL
I think I am. I use spell-check though, and often have to google words. I love how google says, “Did you mean _____?”
I like that too about google. It’s kind of a nice way of saying “hey dumbass, you spelled that wrong. You meant this now didn’t you.”

I am usually a pretty good speller. Using correct grammar however is not my strong point..
Mine either. I use correct grammar most of the time but spell better.
I am a pretty good speller and it’s something I’m wanting my children to be good at too. My daughter spells much better when she says it out loud then writing it out on paper, go figure!
Is that right? Now I’m the complete opposite of your daughter. I spell better when I can see it on paper or on my monitor.

High school level in 6th grade? That’s a pretty good speller then.
