My 39th Birthday

Yesterday was my 39th birthday and a great day! I came home from the resort Thursday afternoon because we lost power at the resort during a bad thunderstorm we had roll through so I spent my birthday at home on Friday. I woke up pretty early and took my son Nick to work and came back home to spend the day with Paula and Logan. We didn’t have any specific plans of any kind, just going with the flow. We spent most of the morning watching TV together while it rained.
While flipping through the channels, I spotted a French film that I like called Ameile. I think that’s how you spell it anyway. If it had not been my birthday, I don’t think we would have watched it nearly as long as we did. Since it’s a French film, they spoke well…French and you have to read the English translation at the bottom of the screen. I don’t normally like to do that but this movie is really good. Anyway, Paula didn’t have much of an interest in it so she spent some time on Facebook while it was on. Logan sat next to me laughing most of the time because he had never seen a foreign film and can’t read so it was just all funny to him.
Later in the afternoon after a refreshing two hour nap, Paula and I went to one of my favorite restaurants for dinner. It’s a small, family owned Mexican restaurant that has been operating in the same building, with the same tables, same chairs and same menu since the invention of dirt. NOTHING has EVER changed there and the food is FANTASTIC! The name of the place is The Ice Cream Palace. WHY it’s called that I have NO IDEA because they don’t even serve ice cream. It’s a FANTASTIC restaurant with a dumb name. EH…..WHATEVER.
After dinner we came home and it was time to open my presents. The first present I opened was some AWESOME cologne from Aeropostale. The next was a fitted baseball cap from Aeropostale. Can you tell I like Aeropostale? Next was a really cool Corona beach towel which will be great to take to the pool at the resort and last but not least were two aprons. The aprons will get a lot of use because I have ruined like 20 shirts this year alone spilling stuff or slopping crap onto them while cooking. Paula asked if I would cook dinner sometime wearing ONLY the apron. I don’t want to let her down so I will do so when she least expects it. LOL
After opening my awesome presents, it was time for cake and ice cream. We had chocolate cake with chocolate icing and Oreo ice cream. Can you tell I like chocolate? Both were delish!
We noticed on the radar that all the rain had moved through and clear skies were once again over us. Nick and I decided it was time to head back out to the resort so we came back at about 8:00pm. We spent some time fishing together, just the two of us.
It was a really nice birthday!
Big thanks to everyone that wished me a Happy Birthday via Twitter or on my blog! Each of you made my birthday that much more special.

Lol about Logan laughing at the movie. Kids are so cute that way.
Now Logan goes around talking gibbish and laughing about it cause he thinks he is talking like that movie.
